Julia Marie Garrett, 86, entered into eternal rest on June 15, 2009 in Marysville, CA. She was born on February 12, 1923 in Williamsville, MO, and she came to California in the late 1930's. While her husband was in Europe during WWII she worked at McClellan Air Force Base building planes, and she also worked for a number of years at Del Monte Cannery. She had been active in the Feather River Baptist Church and the Hall Street Church, teaching Sunday school classes and being involved with Ladies' Groups, and she cared for foster children when asked. Julia enjoyed numerous hobbies, including gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, and watching religious programming on TV. Julia is survived by four children; Julia Lorrie Ramirez of Marysville, Linda Kay Hensley of Marysville, Lola Marie Schroeder of Olivehurst, and Rodney Jay Garrett of Olivehurst, along with her foster child, Jodie Watkins of Wheatland. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen, by her son, Stephen Leroy Garrett, by a sister, Margaret Hatten, and by a brother, Ennis Hooper. There will be a period of visitation at Sierra View Mortuary on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Her final resting place will be at Sierra View Memorial Park.
